
Mounties are looking for witnesses to a bizarre incident in downtown Kamloops on Tuesday.
RCMP say a man was reported to be carrying an axe while yelling at two people. The incident was reported to police at 1:40 p.m., and apparently happened at 3rd Avenue and Victoria Street.
Const. Crystal Evelyn confirms a suspect was carrying an axe, and says that person was known to police. He was found with the axe in the 500-block of Seymour Street.
Evelyn says that suspect was arrested and the axe was seized. She also says no victims have come forward to police, and there are no reports that anybody was injured.
