
Another 536 new cases of COVID-19 in B.C. today, 258 of which were in Interior Health, which continues to have the most cases among health authorities in the province.
It has led to another increase in active cases in B.C., now at 3,585 with 2,045 of those in Interior Health.
There are now 72 people in hospital with COVID-19 in B.C., 29 in intensive care.
Fraser Health reported 135 new cases today (699 active), 105 in Vancouver Coastal Health (493 active), 26 in Island Health (222 active), and 12 cases in Northern Health (116 active). There were no new cases in people who live outside of Canada, with ten such cases active.
There was also one new deaths reported today, in Interior Health, taking the total to 1,778 people.
Interior Health today said there have been 1,690 COVID cases in the Kelowna area since July 1, as it continues to manage the outbreak there. Of that, over 95 per cent are in people who are not yet fully vaccinated.
On the vaccine front, there are now 82.2 per cent (3,809,806) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. who have gotten their first dose of a vaccine, while 71.1 per cent (3,296,603) of people are fully vaccinated.
Since December 2020, the Province has administered 7,114,250 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines.
