Kamloops RCMP say a man was arrested for throwing eggs at people taking part in a protest against vaccine passports.
Mounties say the arrest was for assault with a weapon, as a man was egging protesters when they arrived at Columbia Street, at around 12:30 p.m. That person has since been released from custody with a court date pending. No charges have been laid.
It appears no other arrests were made during the protest, which hundred of people attended from places across the southern Interior.
Those who spoke to NL News say they were protesting the vaccine passport system, which the B.C. government plans to bring into place on Sept. 13, until January.
It will prevent people who are unvaccinated from entering many non-essential businesses.
