The family of Justin Bosher is reacting to the overwhelming amount of support they have received in the past two weeks.
Justin Bosher died in a motorcycle accident on August 25, on Paul Lake Road. It is unclear exactly when, or how, the crash happened, and it’s believed there weren’t any witnesses.
“We would like to thank everyone for the support, it’s been overwhelming,” oldest son Jeremy, told NL Sports. “Cards, gifts, food… it’s pretty special. Justin had a way of touching people’s lives and making an impact. All the people reaching out, it’s pretty crazy.”
Bosher coached lacrosse in Kamloops and also raised both his sons with the sport – both played NCAA Division 1 lacrosse. The family put together an outdoor memorial in Rayleigh Sunday with lacrosse sticks forming a cross.
“The lacrosse community especially… it’s a small family but a very tight-knit one,” Jeremy Bosher added.
A career transport truck driver, Justin Bosher was also the bus driver for the Kelowna Rockets and used to drive the Kamloops Blazers’ team bus from 2015 to 2018.
“The head coach of the Rockets, [Kris Mallette] reached out right away. To know that they cared about him and our family meant a lot,” Jeremy said.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, funeral and memorial plans are undecided at this time. Still, the family is remembering the lessons Justin taught them.
“He would want to have me continue to do the best in what I’m doing and give it my all. He would have wanted me to do it with a smile on my face too,” concluded Jeremy.
