Welcome back, Blazer Nation.
The Kamloops Blazers have announced that there will be fans in the stands for two exhibition games at Sandman Centre this month.
“It’s great news for us. We’re real excited to get going. We are back in line with the rest of the province now. I know we’ve had a a lot of inquiries today already,” Blazers Asst. GM, Tim O’Donovan, told NL Sports.
In keeping with updated provincial and regional restrictions, Sandman Centre will be at up to fifty per cent of capacity when the Prince George Cougars roll into town on Friday, Sept. 17, and again on Sept. 24, when the Kelowna Rockets make the trip up Highway 97.
Everyone in attendance will have to be fully vaccinated and wear a mask in keeping with Interior Health and Provincial Health Officer restrictions. Kids under 12 will be exempt from the vaccine requirement as they are not currently eligible for any vaccines.
Tickets for both games in Kamloops will go on sale at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15. Tickets will be sold on a first come, first serve basis and can be bought online or at the Sandman Centre box office.
Friday will be the first time in 560 days that a Blazers game at Sandman Centre will be played with fans in stands. The last game prior to the COVID-19 shutdown was back on March 6, 2019 – a 6-3 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
The Sandman Centre Box Office hours are as follows:
- Wednesday, Sept. 15th – 9:00am – 2:00pm
- Thursday, Sept. 16th – 9:00am – 2:00pm
- Friday, Sept. 17th – 9:00am – until game time
