Interior Health has declared a COVID outbreak at the Overlander Residential Care, a long-term care facility in Kamloops.
In a statement to NL News, the health authority says there are four cases – two staff members and two residents – connected to the facility on Southill Street in Brocklehurst.
This is the third outbreak in a Kamloops long term care home or an assisted living facility.
The other outbreaks are at Kamloops Seniors Village which has 18 cases – eight among staff and ten among residents – with one death linked. Interior Health says due to a data correction, that is down by one staff case from the 19 total cases reported on Friday.
The other outbreak is at the Hamlets at Westsyde which has six cases linked – three among residents and three among staff members.
Editor’s note: This story has been updated to correct the name of the facility to Overlander Residential Care instead of Overlander Seniors Centre as first reported by Interior Health
