
B.C. is reporting another 759 new COVID-19 cases today, 233 of which were in Interior Health.
Active cases in the province are at 5,458, up by 176 from Tuesday’s update. There are 1,223 active cases in Interior Health, an increase of 56 from yesterday.
The number of people in hospital with COVID-19 across B.C. is down by eight to 324, with 157 of those people in intensive care, an increase of two.
Fraser Health reported 214 new cases (1,734 active) with 129 new cases in Northern Health (943 active), 101 in Vancouver Coastal Health (877 active), and 79 in Island Health (636 active).
There were also three new cases in people who live outside of Canada with 45 such cases active.
The COVID-19 death toll is at 1,910 people after ten more deaths were reported – seven in Fraser Health, two in Vancouver Coastal Health, and one in Island Health.
One more staff member at Kamloops Seniors Village has tested positive taking the total up to 19 cases – nine among staff and ten among residents – with one death linked.
An outbreak at the Hamlets at Westsyde remains at six cases – three among residents and three among staff members, while an outbreak at Overlander Residential Care is still at four cases – two staff members and two residents.
Data from the province shows there are now 87.1 per cent of people over the age of 12 (4,038,966) have gotten one dose of a COVID vaccine, while 79.7 per cent (3,692,922) are fully vaccinated.
That is an increase of 7,057 first doses and 7,123 second doses when compared to Monday.
