Police in Kamloops are investigating after a man was shot early Tuesday morning.
Mounties say they received a report that a man with a gunshot wound on his hand was being treated at Royal Inland Hospital.
It is not clear whether the shooting victim is still in hospital, and police have not said exactly where or when the shooting happened. NL News has reached out to Kamloops RCMP seeking those details.
“At this time it does not appear to pose a risk to the public as the early parts of the investigation indicate that it is an isolated targeted incident,” RCMP Sgt. Darren Michels said, in a statement.
There’s no word on any arrests having been made at this point, and RCMP say they are in the early part of their investigation.
Anyone with information related to the shooting is asked to call the Kamloops RCMP detachment at 250-828-3000, and reference file number 2021-34181.
