
B.C. is reporting 1,618 new cases of COVID-19 and 20 deaths over the weekend, including 254 cases and six deaths in Interior Health.
There were 613 cases reported on Saturday, 529 on Sunday, and another 476 today for an average of 539 cases a day.
Fraser Health led the way with 699 new cases and four deaths (2,030 active cases) with Northern Health second with 289 cases and four deaths (1,042 active). There were also 190 new cases and three deaths in Vancouver Coastal Health (619 active) and 186 cases and three deaths in Island Health (551 active).
There were no new cases in people who live outside of Canada with 59 such cases active.
All told, there are 4,966 active cases of COVID-19 in the province (665 in Interior Health) with 366 contagious people in hospital across B.C., 149 of which are in ICU.
Interior Health says the outbreak at Overlander Long-Term Care in Kamloops has 28 cases (21 residents and seven staff), with five deaths connected. It is the only active COVID outbreak in a Kamloops care home.
There are now 89.6 per cent of people over the age of 12 (4,152,455) who have at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine with 84.4 per cent (3,910,536) fully vaccinated.
