A Kamloops man is facing numerous charges after a BB gun was used in an attempted truck theft on the North Shore on Saturday morning, Oct. 23.
RCMP say they were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road around 10:23 a.m. that morning after a person allegedly confronted a man who was trying to take a truck without permission. In a statement, police say the man had a handgun with him at the time.
“The suspect was known to police who were able to recognize and locate him nearby,” RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said. “A short foot pursuit occurred as the man allegedly attempted to flee.”
Darcy Dean Anderson, 32, is charged with obstructing a peace officer, four counts of breach of probation by not keeping the peace or being of good behaviour, and two counts of breach probation by possessing a BB pellet gun.
Anderson was remanded in custody with his next court appearance scheduled for this Thursday, Oct. 28.
If you have any information related to the investigation, Evelyn says to contact Kamloops RCMP and reference file number 2021-37273.
