With snow in the forecast, Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Hope to Merritt section of the Coquihalla.
It says between 10 to 20 cm of snow could fall near summit on that stretch of highway starting tonight, Oct. 26, through to Wednesday because of an unstable westerly flow.
“The snow will be at times mixed with rain near the summit, and change to rain over lower elevations of the route,” Environment Canada said. “Snowfall amounts will depend greatly on the exact snow level and how much rain occurs.”
People are being told to watch for changing road and weather conditions if they are on the Coquihalla over the next couple of days.
You can find the latest road conditions and any potential closures online at Drive BC.
