
B.C. is reporting 430 new cases of COVID-19 along with six more deaths.
There were 88 new cases and one death in Interior Health, with 638 cases active in the health authority.
Fraser Health reported 202 new cases and four deaths (with 1,891 cases active), while there were 56 new cases in Vancouver Coastal Health (603 active), 47 cases and one death in Island Health (550 active), and 37 new cases in Northern Health (550 active).
There were no new cases in people who live outside of Canada with 59 such cases active.
Across B.C., there ware 4,373 active cases of the virus, down by 321. The number of contagious people in hospital with the virus was not available because of a data error, though there are 137 people in ICU. The death toll is up to 2,192 people.
An outbreak in Unit 5 South at Royal Inland Hospital is at 19 total cases – 17 patients and two staff – while an outbreak at Brock Gemstone Care Centre remains at two cases – one resident and one staff member.
There are now 90.1 per cent of eligible people over the age of 12 (4,174,139) who have gotten one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, while 85.5 per cent (3,963,038) are fully vaccinated. That is an increase of 2,195 first doses and 4,640 second doses when compared to yesterday’s update.
Data from the province shows that between Oct. 26 and Nov. 1, people not fully vaccinated accounted for 64.5 per cent of cases while between Oct. 19 and Nov. 1, they accounted for 72.4 per cent of hospitalizations.
