A snowfall warning is in place tonight for the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.
Environment Canada says about 15 centimetres is expected to fall at the Coquihalla Summit before snow tapers off before morning. DriveBC cameras show that snow started falling late this afternoon.
The forecast is also calling for 2-4 cm of snow tonight between Merritt and Kamloops on the Coquihalla. A number of drivers have reported icy conditions and several accidents near the Inks Lake brake check early this evening.
Another 5-10 cm is also in the forecast for the Okanagan Connector tonight. East of Kamloops, the forecast also is calling for 10 cm tonight at Rogers Pass on the Trans-Canada Highway, and another 2-4 cm during the day tomorrow.
As usual when a snowfall warning is issued, Environment Canada warns drivers to prepare for changing road conditions, turn on headlights and expect reduced visibility.
At time of posting, there are no reports of highway closures in the southern Interior.
