A woman was assaulted and robbed at the 7-11 in Sahali on Wednesday night by someone who was hiding in the back seat of her car.
Kamloops RCMP were called to the corner store parking lot, at 6:40 p.m., in the 1500-block of Summit Drive, after the incident happened.
Police say the suspect is man, who stole the woman’s wallet and cell phone, before running up the hill on Summit Drive away from the scene. Reports suggest the suspect threatened the woman as well.
It’s unclear if the suspect and victim knew each other.
“The cellphone was located, but the suspect remains at large,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn says.
Police searched the area with a police service dog but could not find a culprit.
A suspect is being described as a white man who is five-feet-ten-inches tall, with a slim build. The suspect was wearing a black mask, gloves, a black sweater and dark pants when the attack happened.
Police are asking anyone with information on the suspect to call the detachment at 250-828-3000, and reference file number 2021-39518.
