Interior Health plans to open the emergency department at the Nicola Valley Hospital in Merritt on Monday, Nov. 29.
It says the emergency department will be open from 12 noon to 6:30 p.m. that day, and then between 7:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., starting on Tuesday, Nov. 30, seven days a week.
“IH is reviewing the situation and weather impacts daily and will advise the public of any changes to the planned gradual resumption of emergency department services,” the health authority said, in a statement.
Further, it says COVID-19 testing is also expected to resume in Merritt on Friday, Nov. 26. People can review their options and booking appointments online here.
People are also being told to check with the City of Merritt for the most-to-date local evacuation order and alert notices.
“We will continue to work closely with municipalities, regional districts, and the province to ensure precautions are underway to protect patients, clients, and residents,” IH said.
