
Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Ponderosa Lodge in Kamloops.
It says there have been two patient cases reported at the long-term care facility located at 425 Columbia Street, near Royal Inland Hospital.
Visits to the facility are being restricted and all non-urgent appointments are being postponed.
As of publishing, Ponderosa Lodge is the only facility across Interior Health with an active COVID-19 outbreak.
In all, the province reported 405 new COVID-19 cases Friday, 97 of which were in Interior Health.
There are now 3,071 active cases across B.C (up by 51), with 585 of those active cases across Interior Health (up by 8). There are now 276 people in hospital with COVID-19 (down by 8), with 95 in intensive care (down by two).
There were also six new COVID-19 related deaths reported, taking the provincial total to 2,351 people.
As of Friday, 85.1 per cent (4,240,459) of eligible people over the age of five have gotten one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine while 81.8 per cent (4,079,299) are fully vaccinated.
