Kamloops RCMP are hoping to thank a Good Samaritan who helped out during an impaired driving arrest in Aberdeen on Saturday evening.
Spokesperson Const. says a suspect fled on foot and later resisted arrest as the officer tried to take him into custody.
“As the officer called for emergency backup, a Good Samaritan pulled over, got out of his vehicle, and asked the officer if he needed a hand,” Evelyn said, noting the suspect “changed his behaviour” in the presence of another person.
“The Good Samaritan left before the officer was able to thank him. Whoever you are, please know the impact your gesture had on the constable and how much it was appreciated.”
The unidentified suspect was arrested for refusing to provide a breath sample and obstruction of justice. Evelyn says he was given a 90-day driving prohibition while his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.
If you are or know who the Good Samaritan is, you’re asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
