Kamloops residents are being informed about some snow clearing set to take place this weekend, for some upper city areas.
Streets and Environmental Manager Greg Farrow tells NL morning news the plan includes Lodgepole Drive, Abbeyglen Way, Gleneagles Drive, Garymede Drive, and Van Horne Dr in Sahali and Aberdeen.
Farrow says “please remove your vehicles on those bus routes, so were not dodging and working around other vehicles and equipment. The more space you can provide our crews, the better”
He informs residents vehicles will not be ticketed or towed, but adds that it will take more time to clear the space if cars are still present.
The warmer temperatures we’ve embraced this week, have allowed snow in some areas of town to begin to melt. However, Farrow adds the snow in these higher elevation areas has not had that chance to melt yet, and needs the extra attention.
He also touches on some future plans of fixing potholes around the city, once the snow does naturally clear up.
His team has been informed of certain roads that need attention, and Farrow says the calls are about “the same roads were actually going to be doing more resurfacing and bigger construction treatment on in 2022.”
The Streets and Environmental Manager says crews are planning to complete work on Fortune Drive, Lac Le Jeune Road, Lorne Street, and Highland Road.
He adds on that note, “we are aware, and we are focused on them”.
