UPDATE 2 p.m.  – Drive BC says Highway 1 between Savona and Tobiano is fully open after a crash this morning.

ORIGINAL – Highway 1 is closed in both directions between between Tobiano and Savona because of a multi-vehicle crash.

Drive BC says there is no detour in place and no estimated time when the highway could reopen.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said the crash involved two semis.

“The public is requested to please use alternative routes and avoid the area,” she said. “Delays are expected.”

The next update is expected at 1 p.m. this afternoon.
