British Columbia will be lifting all capacity limits for indoor and outdoor organized events that were put in place to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, says the change will take effect starting this Thursday, Feb. 17.
Indoor personal gatherings will also be returning to normal that day, while indoor seated events like Kamloops Blazers games will be back at full capacity.
Restaurants, bars, and nightclubs will be back to full capacity as well with no limits to the number of people at a table. You’ll be able to mingle between tables again and for the first time in a long time, dancing will be allowed again.
Fitness centres, adult sports, dance, and swimming pools will also be back at full capacity with no restrictions at tournaments.
Masks and COVID-19 vaccine cards will still remain in place, as will the requirement that businesses have COVID safety plans.
Henry says she will be reviewing the use of masks, vaccine cards, and COVID-19 safety plans before March 15 and again before April 12.
Also being reviewed then is long-term care visitor restrictions, guidelines for K-12 students in schools and for childcare, for the faith community, as well as restrictions on overnight caps for children.
