Yet another Canadian curling crew is headed in separate directions.
Following the lead of rinks such as Brendan Bottcher and Kevin Koe, Kamloops-based skip Matt Dunstone has announced his team will be parting ways at the end of the season.
“The last four years with this team have been some of the best years I have ever lived.” said Dunstone in an online post. “I am so thankful for every moment, every win, loss I got to share with these guys.”

Dunstone and his Saskatchewan-based team have been together for the last four seasons on the Pinty’s Grand Slam of Curling tour. Their time together has included a 2019-2020 Masters victory.
Reaction to this has been swift on social media, with many in Saskatchewan and beyond reaching out to praise the squad’s time together.

Team Dunstone came up short at this year’s Brier in Lethbridge. Despite a 6-1 start to the campaign, Dunstone’s squad fell short of the playoffs with back-to-back losses to Saskatchewan rival Colton Flasch to miss out on the finals.
“I’ve been fortunate enough to say I got to play with three of my best friends the past four seasons,” said Dunstone in the team announcement. “I will forever be thankful for them, their families and the wonderful people of Saskatchewan that have treated me like their own the last five years.”
Dunstone’s team, which includes Third Braeden Moskowy, Second Kirk Muyres and Lead Dustin Kidby, will wrap up their time together at this year’s Grand Slam tournament in Toronto in April.
