Police in Kamloops are asking people to keep an eye out for some unique electronic instruments that were stolen earlier this month.
Const. Crystal Evelyn says three Tromino geophysical instruments – used to measure ambient seismic waves caused by wind, waves, and manmade vibrations – were stolen from a company vehicle on the 1500-block of Hugh Allan Drive in Aberdeen on April 16.
Evelyn says the cubed electronic devices are yellow, red, and blue, and housed inside silver coloured cases.
“It’s likely the thief did not know what they were stealing and just grabbed the cases and fled,” she said, noting three Garmin GPS devices were also stolen. “The items have no use to the general public and may have been discarded.”
Anyone who has seen the devices or has information on where they may be is asked to please contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-12284.
