Five months before this fall’s general election, the Village of Lytton has elected a pair of candidates to fill vacant council seats.
Preliminary results from Saturday’s election showed that Melissa Michell got 71 votes while Ross Urquhart got 66 votes.
Third place finisher Ernie Wagner ended up with 24 votes.
According to the village, there were a total of 82 ballots cast, including those at advanced polls and through mail-in ballots.
Both Michell and Urquhart will be sworn in at a Lytton Village Council meeting on Wednesday, May 11.
They will serve as Lytton councillors alongside Ian Hay, Lilliane Graie and Mayor Jan Polderman until the October 15 election.
