Kamloops RCMP say a suspected homemade gun was one of the items seized during an e-bike stop on the North Shore last Thursday.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says an officer on patrol in the 300-block of Tranquille Road stopped a man who was riding the e-bike on the sidewalk, without a helmet.
“While the officer was investigating, he observed a machete attached to a backpack,” she said, in a statement Monday.
“A subsequent search resulted in the seizure of ammunition, break-in instruments, identification documents that were not his; a small amount of suspected cocaine, and what appeared to be a homemade gun.”
Evelyn adds the unidentified man was released from custody with a court date, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
