RCMP say a Kamloops man is facing charges after he was arrested early yesterday morning following a break-and-enter in Sahali.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says Mounties were called to the 1200-block of Summit Drive, in the area of the Columbia Place Shopping Centre, around 6:30 in the morning.
She says a motion alarm was activated on the building’s roof with security cameras also capturing footage of two men inside a store who “appeared to be removing merchandise and cash.”
“Frontline officers quickly arrived on scene and located a suspect on the east side of the building,” Evelyn said. “He was arrested and taken into custody. The building was cleared with the assistance of the Police Dog Service Unit, but no other suspects were located. The investigation is ongoing.”
Justin James Brown Henderson, 28, of Kamloops is charged with one count each of break and enter, theft, and mischief. Evelyn says he remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for today, Sept. 1.
