Kamloops RCMP say a car that was stolen during a break and enter on St. Paul Street last Friday afternoon was found crashed and abandoned on the Trans Canada Highway near Lafarge Road two days later on Sunday.
Police say a red Hyundai Accent was stolen from the 100-block of St. Paul Street sometime between 3:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon on Friday, Sept. 9. Also stolen were phones, a laptop, and keys.
Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the Hyundai was found around 11:50 in the evening on Sunday, Sept. 11, after police were called to a rollover on Highway 1 near the Lafarge Road off ramp. She says the occupant of the vehicle reportedly fled on foot.
“The Police Dog Service Unit attended, but no one was located,” Evelyn said. “The person involved in the crash was described as a six-foot tall man wearing a tank top and jeans. He may have injuries to his face.”
