Dieter was born in Germany and raised in Kitimat.
He has owned Thistle Farms in Westsyde since 1998 where he grows organic vegetables and he is a mainstay at the local farmers’ market.
Dieter first ran to be the Mayor of Kamloops in 2011 when he lost to Peter Milobar by just 235 votes.
He has since served two consecutive terms on Kamloops Council after being first elected in 2014.
