Carol Schaffer was born in Lancaster, England, and immigrated to Canada with her parents and siblings at a young age.
She moved to Vavenby with her husband Jack in 1977, and has worked in the banking industry as for he RCMP and the Court Service as a court clerk and then registry administrator.
Schaffer was most recently elected to the TNRD Board in 2014, having served once before from 1993 until 1996.
She believes her experience and character are a strong combination that would blend well to bring successful continued results for the Area A.
