Jim Smith has called 70 Mile House home since 2013 though he has enjoyed the Cariboo area with his family since the 1970s.
He worked in management throughout his career and volunteered with both the South Green Lake Volunteer Firehall and Snowmobile Club.
Jim wants to work with all Area E communities and First Nations to improve communication, push for proactive fire smart programs, and develop economic improvement strategies.
