The Sandman Centre Parking Lot in Kamloops is set to be filled with people on Saturday for the Pink Lemonade Block Party.
Hosted by Ninth Events, Saturday’s block party will feature a cornhole tournament, live music, food trucks, and more.
After hosting Hoops in the Loops earlier this summer, organizer Jesse Faubert says he wanted this event to be more age inclusive.
“I was thinking for the Fall, how do we throw a tournament that is a little bit more inclusive for everyone, and also a tournament that you might be able to have a beer in your hand while you do it,” he said.
People of all ages are encouraged to sign up for the cornhole tournament, which goes from 1 until 5 p.m. Saturday.
“Something that is a little more community-focused, that community members can participate in, instead of community members just sitting and watching.”
He says all proceeds will go to support the BC SPCA.
“I have a huge passion for giving back and the SPCA specifically, so all the proceeds from the cornhole tournament are going directly to the BC SPCA.”
Then, from 5 to 10 p.m., Faubert says there is a stacked lineup of local BC artists and performers bringing 19+ entertainment.
“We have Bend Sinister leading off as the headliner, we also have Afro beach Vancouver who play a bunch of afro house, afro dub, and a whole bunch of great music,” said Faubert.
Tickets for the event which goes from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday are $23 each.
“If you register for the cornhole tournament, you automatically get wristbands for the block party itself, so we will have that lead right into the block party, right into the music,” he added.
