Kamloops RCMP say they seized some weapons, drugs, and money for a motel room in Valleyview on Wednesday morning.

Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says the Mounties were called to the East Trans Canada Highway in Kamloops around 11:05 a.m. on Sept. 14 after a man was seen running across the highway with a long gun in his sleeve before getting into a truck.

She says the occupants of the truck were arrested after it was spotted at a nearby motel, with officers also identifying the room where the man with the firearm was in.

“Police located three people, a firearm that had been reported stolen during an overnight theft from vehicle report, a loaded cross bow, cash, and approximately one kilogram of various suspected illegal drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, inside of the room,” Evelyn said.

While the items were seized, Evelyn says the people who were arrested were released without charges, pending the conclusion of the investigation.
