UPDATE 3:00 p.m. – Kamloops RCMP are asking people who may have dash cam footage of a shooting in Sahali this morning to reach out to police.
Mounties were called to the 700-block of McGill Road, near Thompson Rivers University, to a report of shots fired.
“Investigators are asking for anyone with dash camera footage from the area to please contact police, particularly around the 700-block of McGill Street and its nearby plazas on Columbia Street and Summit Drive,” RCMP spokesperson, Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, said.
While police have not said what the shooting may have been about, Evelyn says five people are in custody, and that the suspects were found at “various locations” in the area.
“At this time, no one has been located with injuries and police believe there are no suspects or victims unaccounted for,” she added.
As of publishing, people were still being told to avoid the area as Evelyn said investigators were still on scene collecting evidence.
Anyone who has video, witnessed, or has information related to the investigations is asked to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-33033.
