A hattrick from Caedan Bankier and a three point night for Logan Stankoven led the Kamloops Blazers to a 7-1 win over the Tri-City Americans.
Bankier opened the scoring in the first period, and also had goals in the second and third. Stankoven had a pair of goals in the second period of his first WHL game of the season, while Connor Levis also found the back of the net in the middle frame.
Daylan Kuefler scored for the Blazers in the third period with Alex Serraglio the lone goal scorer for Tri-City to make it 7-1.
Dylan Ernst made 28 saves for his third win of the season. Tri-City starter Nick Avakyan was credited with the loss after allowing six goals on 21 shots, while Tomas Suchanek allowed one goal on 14 shots in relief.
The Blazers travel to Portland to play the undefeated Winterhawks Saturday. Portland shut out Kamloops 3-0 on opening night at Sandman Centre back on Sept. 23.
The next home game for the Blazers is on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when the Brandon Wheat Kings visit Sandman Centre.
