RCMP say a Kamloops man is in custody after a report of an assault with a weapon and a theft at store on the North Shore yesterday.
Police say they were called to the 300-block of Tranquille Road around 2 p.m., Oct. 19, noting two people were allegedly assaulted after they chased a theft suspect out of a store.
“An officer observed an image of the suspect, then conducted patrols in the area,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, said. “Shortly after, on the 100-block of Yew Street, the officer located a bike matching the description of the one used by the suspect, followed by the suspect nearby.”
Jeffrey Ernest William Trump, 36, has been charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of theft under $5,000.
