People living in a building in Westsyde are likely to be homeless for a while following a fire this morning.
Crews were called out to the home on Reemon Drive just before 10:30 a.m. to reports of a fire on the second floor of the building.
Everyone inside managed to make it out safely.
Platoon Captain Kris Krutop says firefighters from halls from across the city ended up on-scene.
“Little strange today. We were doing some training, both in the Westsyde district and Sahali,” he said.
“We assembled all the crews and got them all responding from every fire station.”
Krutop says it’s likely those living in the building won’t be able to return for some time, as both the upper and lower floor suffered extensive damage.
No word yet on a possible cause.
