For the first time since his departure from Corus, Michael Campbell will be returning to terrestrial radio in British Columbia — here on RadioNL.
Mike’s Money Talks will be on the NL airwaves every Saturday from 9 am to 11 am and will then repeat on Sunday afternoons from 4 pm to 6 pm.
From investing, markets, the economy and your money, Campbell discusses on his show Money Talks, how to make it, how to spend it, how to grow it and how to avoid letting it get away.
Campbell says he is very eager to be back on terrestrial radio, as there is no shortage of content to discuss when it comes to finances and the economy.
“People don’t need me to tell them how their lives are changing financially like they show up at the grocery store and they look and say ‘oh, my goodness.'”
“We got the inflation numbers this week at 6.9%. But people kind of overlook the fact that’s on top of last year’s growth in inflation. The cost of living is killing some people and it’s working its way up the income scale,” he said.
Whether its mortgages, borrowing rates, food prices, or energy prices, Campbell says over half of Canadians are feeling the pressure as prices continue to rise.
Campbell also promises there will be no shortage of his opinions shared on Mike’s Money Talks.
“They’re based on this, is that as I just alluded to, economics doesn’t care about politics,” he said. “We’re looking up to 50 billion in just interest alone in the federal debt coming up with the next five years. It won’t matter who’s in power. I mean, economics, it’s sort of the same thing. You got a mortgage payment. The bank doesn’t ask who you voted for, make the darn payment.”
This weekend, Campbell says he will be discussing the healthcare system in Canada.
“The recent Commonwealth health index, we ranked second-last but we ranked last if you’re trying to get an emergency, you know, doctor, and then go to a specialist.”
