
A Kamloops man is facing charges after crashing into a police vehicle and trying to get away over the weekend.
Kamloops Mounties tried to pull over a black SUV after noticing the it had stolen plates, as it was travelling on the Halston Connector Road at roughly 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The officer followed the vehicle southbound onto Schubert Drive, where a second officer was traveling northbound.
Then, police say the driver allegedly tried to evade police, hitting another RCMP vehicle before coming to a stop on a driveway.
Authorities say the driver tried to flee on foot before being arrested
Police say 28 year old Colton Reeb, appeared in court Saturday morning, and is facing charges with one count each of flight from police and obstructing a peace officer.
Reeb was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on December 15.
“Thankfully, the officer involved in the collision was not injured and following a brief foot pursuit, caught Reeb and took him into custody,” states Staff Sergeant Janelle Shoihet of the Kamloops RCMP.
