Fraser Minten scores his 2nd of the game in an eventual 6-4 victory over the Kelowna Rockets/Via Kamloops Blazers
It was Fraser Minten leading Kamloops to a post-Christmas victory on Tuesday, notching a hat-trick and an assist in a 6-4 victory over the Kelowna Rockets.
After giving up the first goal late in the 1st, the Blazers rallied in the 2nd off of Fraser Minten’s 14th of the campaign to tie the game at 1.
Kelowna would then regain the lead off a goal by Turner McMillen.
However, the Blazers would respond with a pair later in the 2nd from Connor Levis and Daylan Kuefler to take a 3-2 lead into the dressing room after 2.
The see-saw battle would continue, with the Rockets regaining the lead early in the 3rd, including Turner McMillen’s 2nd of the night on the power play to give Kelowna the 4-3 lead.
However, the Blazers would respond, with Matthew Seminoff getting his 13th to knot the game back up at 4.
And after a scrap involving Drew Englot which saw the Rockets take the instigator, Fraser Minten would score his 2nd of the night on the power play, then salt the game away with the empty-netter to complete the hat trick in the 6-4 victory.
Dylan Ernst turned aside 21 of the 25 shots he faced for his 12th straight victory when he started between the pipes.
With the win, @Dylan_Ernst31 has now won 12 straight starts. He’s now eyeing Kenric Exner’s 13 straight wins in 98-99. In the era of ties, Exner went unbeaten that year in 27 starts – 23-0-4. That stretch included 13 straight wins. #Kamloops
