A major fundraising event for Sun Peaks is coming back after a 2-year hiatus.
The Nancy Greene Alpine Classic race is set for the final Friday and Saturday of the month after being scrubbed the past couple of years because of the pandemic.
Nance Greene says this year’s event is hoping to raise funds to help build a fully functional K to 12 school, including a gymnasium, for the resort community, where around 160 students are currently taught in portables.
The former Olympic champion says they’re encouraging skiers and snowboards of all levels to take part.
“And this year we’re back with an exciting ski and snowboard cross race,” said Greene in an online post. “Ashleigh McIvor, Olympic Champion in 2010, will be here as a special guest.”
