Mounties have expanded their search for a Kamloops man with new details about the day of his disappearance.
Police say Jakob Gibbon’s family woke up early on December 29, with him and his car gone. The 22-year-old reportedly left his home on the North Shore between 11 p.m. on December 28 and 7:30 am on December 29 in his white, four door Dodge Avenger.
Gibbons family says his departure is out of character and have yet been able to reach him.
“Since then, Jakob has also failed to attend work,” said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson.
“In addition to the photo released of Jakob on Dec. 30, we’re also sharing a stock image of a 2012 Dodge Avenger in hopes that someone will spot his vehicle and contact police as soon as possible.”
Gibbons was last seen wearing a Black Under Armour sweatshirt with large, white logo on the chest, dark blue denim jeans, grey running shoes, and possibly wearing a hat.
Gibbons vehicle is described to be a 2012 white four-door Dodge Avenger, with BC license plate JM9 04E.
“If anyone does have information – maybe you’re a neighbour who saw him leave that morning, maybe you’re a friend or co-worker who exchanged texts with him recently — it’s so important that you share that information with police, even if you’ve already told his family or friends about it, to ensure it gets to investigators,” added Cpl. Evelyn.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
