UPDATE Feb 1, 12:30 p.m. – A Cherry Creek woman has been reunited with her rare long haired chocolate and tan French bulldog that was stolen from her property nearly three weeks ago.
Jennifer De Lisi took to facebook to say that that her prayers have been answered as Whisper had been dropped off at a vet’s office.
“I am in utter and total disbelief,” De Lisi said. “After 20 days a Good Samaritan dropped Whisper off at a vet and we were notified. Miracles do happen.”
Police also issued a plea for information about Whisper’s whereabouts last month, asking people to be on the lookout for the missing dog, which had just birthed a litter of pups, which De Lisi was advertising for sale online.
“We are happy to confirm Whisper’s safe return to her family and we continue to encourage the public to contact us with any information that could help further this ongoing investigation,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said,
RCMP say the investigation into Whisper’s disappearance is still ongoing with Cpl. Crystal Evelyn saying that no further details around the circumstances of her recovery will be released at this time.
“On Jan. 31, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment was contacted by someone who stated they recently located a dog they believed to be Whisper,” Evelyn said. “Police made arrangements with the person to take the dog to a veterinarian clinic and confirm it was Whisper by checking her microchip. Since then, she has been returned to her rightful owner.”
De Lisi had initially offered a $5,000 for information that led to Whisper’s safe return, a reward which was recently doubled to $10,000.
“There are no words for the gratitude we feel for every single person who messaged and shared and prayed for Whisper’s safe return,” she added in her facebook post.
“We are forever grateful to have her back in our loving arms tonight.”
Anyone with information related to this incident is asked to please call the Tk’emlups Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800.
