A family-friendly event is making its return to Kamloops on Monday.
The Family Day Festival is set to return to the Tournament Capital Center this year for the first time in 2-years since it was cancelled due to the pandemic.
The event — the 9th of its kind — will feature a variety of different events and activities, aimed mostly at younger children.
“Community organizations and businesses will bring a wide range of family-focused activities into one place,” said the City of Kamloops on its website. “Festival goers will have an opportunity to get creative with arts and crafts, have their faces painted, enjoy live performances, experiment with science, play new sports, and try some musical instruments.”
Local food vendors will also be on site during the event, which will run from 10am to 2pm on the Family Day holiday Monday.
For more festival details, including a list of booths, food vendors, and entertainment are available here.
People are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to support the Kamloops Food Bank.
This will coincide with other events the City of Kamloops is putting on during Family Day, including free public skating at the Valleyview Arena, as well as reduced swimming fees at the Canada Games Aquatic Center.
