Be prepared to see Kamloops being promoted both online, and on national television, while the Scotties Tournament of Hearts is underway.
As part of its campaign to promote the city, Tourism Kamloops is going to be running a pair of ads on TSN to coincide with the coverage.
CEO Monica Dickinson says there are going to be two different ads running during the 10-days of the event, which she says is focused specifically for the TSN audience.
“Kind of letting people know all the great stuff that there is to do in Kamloops,” suggests Dickenson. “We’ve taken two approaches, one more of a general leisure or exploratory advertisement, and then the other is very golf-focused.”

“Golf has actually been a really lead motivator for travel to Kamloops, in all honesty. We’ve got some of the greatest courses in the nation, being Tobiano and Talking Rock, are book-ends in and around the destination and then, course diversity. We have 8 other courses in and around Kamloops.”

As well, Dickenson says you can expect to see online ads circulating, including local curler Erin Pincott — 3rd on the Corryn Brown team and doubles partner with Matt Dunstone — touring Men’s curling great John Morris around the region, giving people online a snapshot of what Kamloops has to offer.
“John hung out with us for a couple of days,” said Dickenson. “We took him to do some golf, to take in some ice-fishing, to drink some beers, to eat locally, and just kind of get take and have his experience.”
Both the online and TV campaigns are due to run through the 10-day duration of the Scotties, which gets underway on Friday evening and runs until Sunday, February 26th.
