The Kamloops Blazers have signed forward Josh Kelly to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement.
The six-foot-two Port Moody native was listed by the Blazers in late December, and practiced with the team in February.
In 33 games with the Vancouver NE Chiefs U18 AAA team in the BC Elite Hockey League, the 16-year-old Kelly has 30 goals and 29 assists to him name, good for second in U18 AAA scoring.
“We would like to welcome Josh and his family to the Kamloops Blazers organization,” Blazers Head Coach and General Manager, Shaun Clouston said. “Josh has had a great season and we look forward to being a part of his continued development.”
Kelly is the second 2006-born player to sign with the Blazers this week, joining defenseman Kalan Anderlini.
They join goaltender Jesse Sanche, defenseman Harrison Brunicke, and forwards Ashton Tait and Conner Radke as the Blazers continue to build for the future.
