Kamloops RCMP say impaired driving is believed to be a factor after a head-on crash on Westsyde Road that sent one person to hospital with significant injuries on Sunday.
Mounties were called to the crash involving a Honda Civic and Ford Ranger pickup truck just north of Parkview Drive around 1:10 that afternoon, Feb. 26.
They say the driver of the Honda was arrested for impaired driving and his passenger was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Several people who were in the truck also suffered minor injuries.
“Traffic in the area was impacted for several hours as a result of the collision, for which charge recommendations are anticipated as part of the ongoing Criminal Code impaired driving investigation,” RCMP spokesperson Corporal Crystal Evelyn, said.
Evelyn says the suspect was released with a court date and a driving ban.
If you witnessed the crash or have information or dash cam footage of it, Evelyn says to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment.
