She also had a 1.10 goals-against average – the fourth-lowest in the country – and a win percentage of 0.824, also fourth in Canada.
The fourth year goaltender helped UNB to a 23-5 regular season record before continuing her dominant play in the playoffs as the Reds won their second consecutive AUS title.
Woodland also helped Canada win the gold medal in women’s hockey at the 2023 FISU World Winter University Games in Lake Placid, New York. She finished with a 0.25 GAA, a 0.984 save percentage and three shutouts in four games.
Woodland beat Audrey-Anne Veillette (Montréal), Leah Herrfort (Waterloo), and Tatum Amy (Mount Royal) to become the first player from UNB to win the Brodrick Trophy as player of the year.
The 2023 U Sports Women’s Hockey National Championships get underway tomorrow, March 16, in Montreal.
The Reds are ranked fourth and will play the Montréal Carabins in the quarter finals at 4:30 p.m. B.C. time.
