RCMP say one person was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a shooting at a house in downtown Kamloops early Friday morning.

Mounties say they got multiple reports of gunshots fired in the 800-block of Battle Street just before 2:30 a.m., March 24.

RCMP Staff Sergeant Kris Clark says investigators came across a house and evidence that at least one weapon had been fired.

“While the investigation is in its infancy, some of the persons involved are known to police and early indications suggest that this is an isolated incident,” RCMP Staff Sergeant Troy Durand, the Acting Operations Support Officer added.
