The search for a new Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) facility continues following another attempted break-in at its current facility last week.
KSAR says nothing was taken after someone pried open one of the doors of a trailer at its Mission Flats facility last Thursday, March 23, to see what was inside.
“We are lucky that our sleds and gear are still there but there’s damage,” KSAR said in a post on Facebook. “We had multiple break-ins [to] our over flow container and trailer over the last couple of months.”
“We’re looking for another facility to call home, with more room to safely store all our gear, and with room to train indoors.”
Kamloops Search and Rescue was set to move into the Cooper Centre at the corner of York Avenue and Eighth Street, though last year it said that things had changed and that situation wasn’t going to work out.
Those with suggestions or a facility that might work are being told to contact the KSAR executive by email.
