The Kamloops Chapter of the Vintage Car Club of Canada is kicking off its Easter drive and car show this weekend.
Club Chairman Rich Vandermey says vehicles will stage at McArthur Island at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 9, before setting out at 11:45 a.m.
They’ll travel through Brocklehurst, Westsyde, and North Kamloops before stopping downtown at Riverside Park for the cars to be on display.
Vandermey says the event kicks off the season for vintage car owners.
“Certainly this event is the premier one for the start of the year, where people are getting the cars in shipshape and an opportunity to come out.”
The cars will be on display at Riverside Park from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Sunday, with Vandermey noting there is no cost for those wanting to come out and take a look.
“One of our members has got a 1911 and it drove Buick McLaughlin and it will be on display at Riverside Park. He’s looking forward to getting that vehicle there and presented for display.”
He adds there will be no shortage of vintage cars to take a look at.
“We’ve got about 100 members in the Kamloops Chapter which equates to about 200 cars and there’s a lot of cars that come out of the woodwork for this event as well.”
