UPDATE 6:30 p.m. – Kamloops firefighters have a two-alarm structure fire on the Mount Paul Industrial Park under control.
That is according to a tweet from the City of Kamloops just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
“Crews have the fire under control and remain on site,” the City said. “Please avoid the area while crews continue to work.”
Crews were called around 5:40 p.m. to a fire at High Country Cold Storage, located at 350 Dene Drive, near the Purity Feed Farm and Garden Centre.
At one point, there was heavy black smoke and flames visible from downtown Kamloops, though it appeared to have subsided considerably around 6 p.m. or so.
There is no word on what caused the fire or if there were any injuries.
